I am a single mother of 3 kids and recently lost my job due to cutbacks. I am having a hard time finding another one due to not having enough gas to put in applications. I have put in some, in person, and have put in my resume at several places online. My electric is now due ($297.64)and I haven't been able to come up with the money. My family is unable to help me and local charities are out of money because it's the end of the month. To make things even worse, my ex-husband lost his job also so I am not even receiving child support. I hate asking for help, but I don't know what else to do. If anyone is able to help me, it will be greatly appreciated!

There is LIHEAP available IF your furnace is forced air - you may be eligible for assistance.They may be able to pay a portion of your electric bill.

Also check with benefits.gov, modest needs, 211.org. ( united way) , salvation army, catholic charities, st vincent de paul and any of the other organizations on my home page

Hello. My family and I our in desparate need with help paying our power bill. It will be disconected tomorrow.Without power, we have no water, and our food will spoil. We have been struggling to keep up, but livng on food stamps and one unemployment check for 2 children and 2 adults just don't cut it. Thank the lord my hubby found a job 2 weeks ago! I have been fat my whole life. Then one day I decided that I was tired of being so large. I saved up money joined a gym and took my wieght down from 400lbs to 295lb. One huge problem I lost it to fast. I have a large amount of extra skin hanging from my body. I went to my doctor but they said it was cosmetic. I would like to see then live life with extra skin hanging off their body. I ended up going to a plastic surgen. Safely they said it would cost me 14,000 dollars to get it remove. Now I bet you were asking why so much. It because I am 6ft10in which is alot of man.
Im so poor that I basically can only eat.three days a week just so that I ha e enough money to pay for.gas.money to go to work and back.
I hate asking for money but I am desprit. I am plegged by his horrible skin folders and before the surgens named their price I was sure I saw that end of the tunnel. When the bill came so did the boulders that blocked that light at the end of the tunnel.
Please someone help me remove those boulders. I want to live a normal live with a normal body and with someones help I will get to have that chance.

I need serious help with rental assistance of $1,000 plus $500 for my storage. I am not on drugs of any kind, just a single mother of a 13-year old son and my oldest son is a US Marine. I have missed work due to stress and illness and my disability was only for two months and I could not return to work because of down-sizing. I am behind 2 months in my rent and am about to be kicked out and have no where to go. I owe my landlord $1,000 and if I don't pay him by the 10th he is asking us to move by the 15th. If I don't pay my storage by the 10th also, everything my kids and I have worked so hard for will be auctioned. I am about to get a new job plus I just had my child support payments increased but the new payments have not started yet. I know we will be okay, we just need a little break of right now. I am also studying to become a Holistic Health Practitioner as I aspire to have my own practice for no/low income families and promise to give back in the same spirit in which has been given to me and my son. I have wrote a post for the same problem few months a go. I will told you the story, shortly.

I was the best student of my city at the time I was graduated from senior high school. Unfortunatelly, after giant earthquake (that was happen when I was in senior high school) my parents became so poor because we lost our home and nd almost everything. After that, my father was suffering parkinson.

My graduation certificate was arrested by the school because of some tuition problems I have arrear. Looking for a job without graduation certificate was so hard. After almost 3 years collecting money, I can pay my tuition and get my certificate of graduation. 

I really want to continue my education. Unfortunatelly, state university in my country do not accept mature student (more than 19 years age). I was born at 1988, and I will be 23 years old net year. Harvard university offers international student need-based tuition for excellence student candidate. I can fullfill all requirement except for the SAT. I live in small town and SAT only helds once a year in 3 big cities that was far from my town. I was failed because I can not collect enough money. I do not want to give up.

I will try next year (2011). University of oregon also give scholarship. Both of, needs SAT score. I have measured that I will need 315USD. Here, I ask you a help. I am looking for any donation whatever the amount is, I will really appreciate is. I am good in draw and some arts. If you can donate me with some requirement of works as payment, I will take it. I agree with this to a certain extent.  It all depends upon which bills they are.  With regular utilities it sometimes does not work out.

Everyone is swamped now a day with worry of how to pay for everything. We are being pressured to make sure it’s paid on time or we have to get it paid off now or soon. But if you are late and have notices and threats and collection calls. The pressure in that alone will drive you crazy. Don’t let it. Take it one bill at a time.

I’ve learned and by speaking to a lot of people about bill collections or threats, that you must take it one bill at a time. Don’t worry about getting them all the bill paid at once. Put all the money in one bill and it will pay off quickly and then you can work on the next bill. Because when you are late, you are late. So be it. 

The best advice I’ve ever gotten from someone deep in debt. Why pay them all at once, just take all the money and pay that bill and get it out of the way and then pay for the next one and so forth and so on. Your late, your late. He would get tons of call from all collection companies but the pressure was making him lose sleep, be worried and make another wrong step in life.

But one day, when he decided to take it one bill at a time, it all worked out fast. Out of the 15 bills that he was behind in. He had them all paid off within 18 months, all of them. He fought, and yelled and screamed and told them, it will get paid when money comes in. As he did that, he would pay the bill and pay it off and then go to the next one. It was getting to the point where, he was in control not the bill collector.

At this time, he works a full time job and a part-time job. Because of all the hard work he did to get himself out of debt. He wants to reward him self by taking a trip to Europe next year. So he is saving every penny he can find and is telling himself, that he did good and he is worth it.

So if you struggling and don’t know what to do and you can’t find where to go next. Just take it one bill at a time or one step at a time. Step back, take a deep breath and just put all the bills in order of how you want to pay them off and work on it. In the mean time, take your frustration out on your bill collection company and yell back. Work hard and you will see your victory soon.

In your twn there a once a year gas help, all your gas company and they will tell you who is doing it, if you can't get information let me know and i will help do some research

Hi.  I am not going make a posting because I do not want to hinder or delay any assistance you may receive.  However, I am in the same situation.  Married couple with three children, ages 2, 3 & 8.  I am working but it is not enough.  If and when you receive assistance could you please share some information with me so I can know who to call on for help.  And that "worse feeling in the world" you were talking about; know that you are not feeling it alone.

See if they have a CEASE program in your area and in the meantime apply for Energy Assistance.  You may also have a Catholic Charity in your area and you do not have to be catholic to get help. They are faster than any other program

I'am a mom of four and live in a four bedroom apartment.. My youngest child is in a rehab.facility in New Jersey, i by the way  live in brooklyn.My daughter is diognosed with spinal muscular atrophy.Thats not the problem she's doing better than all of us hear Thank God ! I'm on public assistance and i don't have the money to pay for my light in which is associated some what with the managment of the building i live in. I owe 1,000 in light. I received the notice 2 days ago and another one today. The notice states i have 3 days to pay full amount or the will evict me.I went to public assistance for help but, they only have accounts with conedison and two other companys in which mine unfortunally wasn't one of them !

Please help I am a father who is desperatly trying to provide for his family I have 2 daughters with one one the way and my wife is ill while gonhg thru her current prgnancy,  because of her pregnancy to which she currently has in turn lost her job which was in home hospice care for an elderly woman and when we told the ladys daughter that we were pregnant she decided to disolve her employment and when that happended we lost our appartment which was in the basementso I am looking for a place to put our heads or money to pay rent to a different place when we were in the basement we were paying off bills with what ever I made beacuse all of the hospice care was to supress rent and utilities but now we have nothing and I am looking for help where ever I can get it.

Hello. I dont trully have a sad story or anything but we do need help. Me and my wife have two daughters who we love with all are hearts. We make enough money to keep food for them but not us. We strugle from pay check to pay check and we would realy like to get out of our credit debt so my girl can go to college. This will allow her to better herself for not just herself but our family. I know its kind of a lot but it would be nice if we could raise around $1500 dollars. With this amount we could once again breath.

           I am having a real hard time making ends meet for my 4 babys and myself. I have no job at this  time because I have no car and little to no help from family members and between 3 different  teachers  homework and times  to be picked up  and a million other things that can and sometimes do usually happen my light at home have been shut off twice the first time (I PAID 445.00 I barrowed from a friend) and So I thought cool my bill should be little to none no ITS STILL 500  dollars thanks to there 200 dollar newly added Deposit. Now what to do Ive done mac they wont let me again 4 8 more month or so and I tried another program but they cant pay deposit  i halft to pay first with no money
